Do you think that these animal charity adverts on tv are genuine? were does the money go?

my personal opinion is that these animal charity adverts on tv are genuine, i do not give to any charity because i can not afford to and my main reason is that many charitys give you a teddy and pictures when you donate something like £4 per month, i think it is wrong that they giv you teddys and pictures and other stuff, who paid for this, someone has paid for these teddys and stuff? i would want the money to go towards helping animals not a teddy and pictures, i know many people who used to give to charitys but they have now stopped because like i said, you pay money to help, not to recieve gifts through your door, what do you think about this situation???
